Enigma's Technology
The Certex System® - an Enigma Systems patented technology - is an innovative software technology that provides for the securing of any digital content through any transmission mode (DVB, IP,...). The Certex System® ensures, among other things, that the device (e.g. mobile phone, set top box) in charge of digital content processing officially makes use of the received stream, certifying that critical software and data cannot be tampered with. As a significant advantage, the Certex System® does not require any secret protection features (e.g. encoding/ decoding keys) nor bidirectional transmission channels. The Certex System® is a « White box » security system. It is based on an integrity check of the device processing the digital content versus simply on an encryption process wherein secrets must be protected via hardware or software obfuscation methods that cannot be easily renewed once attacked. – The strength of the Enigma Technology is that it considers the attacks as inevitable. That's why Enigma's approach is to offer a pragmatic approach to respond to system attacks. The Certex System® permits easy and quick renewal of the system's security in real time, without interruption to the service, as often as needed, thereby preventing any piracy. |
